Les élections auront lieu en Haïti en 2021, prévoit Jovenel Moïse
The President of the Republic, Jovenel Moïse, plans to carry out the elections in the country in 2021. He affirmed it Sunday during the 5th issue of the community dialogue held ordinarily at the national palace.
After the resignation of the members of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP), the tenant of the Palace is struggling to find representatives in various sectors concerned to reconstitute the electoral institution. Despite this, Jovenel Moïse does not intend to reverse. “Whatever the cost, the elections will be held in the country in 2021”, he suggested.
President Moïse took the opportunity to provide clarifications on his last statement (yo pap ka pran puwa nan men nou) which aroused a lot of reactions and criticism within society. According to the first citizen of the nation, the power he spoke of is that of the people, who can elect whoever they want through their right to vote.
In the meantime, members of the opposition continue to trumpet the end of his term on February 7, 2021 and prepare to relaunch mobilization in the country to force him out of power. For them, no question of elections with Jovenel Moïse as president.
